At Least Six Israelis Killed As Truck Rams into Tel Aviv Bus Stop

IQNA – A truck driver rammed his vehicle into a crowd of people at a bus stop in Tel Aviv on Sunday, killing at least 6 Israelis and injuring many more.

At least 24 people were injured in the incident, police said, without clarifying whether it was an attack.

The force however said civilians at the site of the incident “shot the truck driver and neutralized him.”

Earlier on Sunday the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said the incident occurred at Aharon Yariv Boulevard in Ramat HaSharon, north of the commercial hub Tel Aviv.

Officers and ambulances rushed to the scene, where Israeli television channels showed police cordoning off the area as medics helped the injured and a helicopter hovered above.

According to a statement by MDA, “At 10:08 a.m. (0808 GMT), a report was received… of a truck hitting a bus stop on Aharon Yariv Boulevard in Ramat Hasharon… Paramedics are currently providing medical treatment on-site to dozens of casualties.”  

Magen David Adom added that it had taken at least 35 settlers to hospitals following the incident.

They included six in serious condition, five in moderate condition, 20 who were lightly hurt, and another four suffering acute anxiety, MDA said.

There are reports that more than 50 people sustained injuries in the incident, among them 10 in serious condition, and some individuals still remain trapped under the vehicle.

The attack comes as the Israeli regime continues its gencidal war in the Gaza Strip, with the death toll there nearing 43,000.
